2 cups dry red wine (such as zinfandel)
1 cup chicken stock
2 teaspoons tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1 bay leaf
4 oz thick-sliced bacon, fried and chopped
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 package (13 oz) egg noodles, cooked according to package directions
