Ingredients

1 cup dried dates, chopped
1 tblsp powdered ginger (optional)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tblsp butter
1 tsp baking soda
Pinch of salt
Pinch of cinnamon
1 cup boiling water
1 1/2 cups sr flour
Note: you can use really any type of dried fruit you like, apricots, persimmons, currants, even raisins. with the sweeter fruits use only 1/4 cup of sugar or less as desired.
