Our Think Pink Picks Under $20!

We're loving this year's bumper crop of "Think Pink" products that have hit the shelf this month in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Manufacturers, retailers and artists alike have taken on creating limited-edition pink items and committed to donating a portion of their sales to breast cancer awareness and research charities. Among our favorites is the $350 KitchenAid Artisan Series Stand Mixer that's part of their Cook for the Cure campaign. $40 goes to the Susan G. Komen foundation when the purchaser registers on the Cook for the Cure Web site. But lots of us are looking for a much more affordable way to participate in the wearing of the pink, and the donating of the green. So RedPlum's rounded up our favorite Breast Cancer Awareness Month products that feature an under-$20 price tag.

    1. Clinique Gloss Trio ($18.50)
Three limited-edition glosses from Clinique for less than $19 would be news enough, but when you bag this particular product $10 full dollars to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. That's a big portion of the purchase price! The three tubes of Long Last Glosswear SPF are clipped onto a keychain with two charms: a pink ribbon, and a "c" for Clinique. The shades range from bold to powder pink and are named Air Kiss, Kissyfit & Whisper.
    2. e.l.f. Polish ($1)
It's a tiny little price, but 100 percent goes to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation when you paint on e.l.f.'s Bubble Gum Pink polish.
    3. Essie Polish ($8)
If you're game for slightly higher end nail coating, Essie's donating a portion of the proceeds from their Yes We Can, Pink! shade to Living Beyond Breast Cancer.
    4. Conair Hair Straightener ($19.99)
If you still haven't invested in a straightening iron, this is the month to do it, because $1 from each purchase of Conair's ceramic straightening iron will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. (Consider the straightener required equipment next to that hairdryer and curling iron.)
    5. Victorinox Swiss Army Knife ($12)
The classic 7-Function pocket knife has been re-imagined in pink, but offers the normal convenience, and even more protection, now that a portion of the proceeds go to breast cancer charities.
    6. Tweezerman Breast Cancer Awareness Tweezer ($20)
During October Tweezerman is once again covering their best-selling Slant Tweezer in pink ribbons, and donating a percentage of its sales to breast cancer charities. (Remember that Tweezerman will replace damaged/dropped tools for one half the purchase price and repair bent tips for $5.00 per tool with no shipping and handling charges.)
    7. Jane Iredale PureGloss ($19)
The perfect limited-edition gloss shade In The Pink carries the tingly mint and ginger flavors and no-chemical plumping that has beauty junkies worshipping Jane Iredale's products. And for each In The Pink gloss sold, Jane Iredale will donate $2 to Beyond Breast Cancer.
    8. Hammered Sterling Necklace ($15)
On Etsy we found this darling sterling silver pendant necklace, hand-stamped with the words "Find a Cure" accented with a pink Swarovski bead and a sterling silver bead. $5 of the purchase price will be donated to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada.

  1. Cleavage Creek Wines ($18)
After Budge Brown lost his wife of 48 years to breast cancer he decided to help make sure other husbands didn’t suffer the same fate. He bought the Cleavage Creek label which has already won 19 medals in 2009. Brown donates 10% of gross wine sales to breast cancer research; over $55,800 has been contributed thus far. Most recently, Cleavage Creek has funded a new Integrative Oncology Research Center for breast cancer at Bastyr University. On each bottle of Cleavage Creek is the image of a breast cancer survivor; her story is told at the Cleavage Creek Web site. Bottles start at $18.
